Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo are mad. Suing mad.

Chicago attorney Gloria Schmidt has announced the Nigerian brothers at the center of the Jussie Smollett fake hate crime scandal are filing a lawsuit against Smollett’s attorneys Mark Geragos and Tina Glandian in an attempt to “have their reputations restored.” The brothers are willing to admit to a fake hate crime, but they’ve drawn the line at being accused of a real one, which is causing repercussions in their lives.

The concept of men who are willing to commit a fake hate crime for money having any honor that needs to be restored is a very flimsy idea, but after watching Smollett lie about his innocence online who can blame them for being angry?

In a statement, the Osundario brothers said, “We have sat back and watched lie after lie being fabricated about us in the media only so one big lie can continue to have life. These lies are destroying our character and reputation in our personal and professional lives.”

After the charges against Smollett were dropped, a statement was sent out on his behalf characterizing him as “a young man of impeccable character and integrity” and describing his feeling of betrayal because he is innocent. Adding insult to fake injury, the statement went on to criticize law enforcement and the legal system for daring to accuse Jussie based upon something so flimsy as mountains of evidence.

The Osundario brothers were proven to have purchased the noose that was around Smollett’s neck. They gave confessions to law enforcement. The “big lie” that Jussie is a victim of a hate crime, if true, by default would mean the Osundario brothers are actual racist homophobes who would commit a hate crime. The crime they committed was a hate crime against Trump supporters, who would have been blamed for the attack if Smollett had gotten away with it in the public eye.

Through this lawsuit, these brothers just want the public to understand that they only wanted to harm Trump supporters, not gay black men.

As if Smollett running his big mouth wasn’t bad enough, Smollett’s attorneys threw fuel on the fire when they continued insisting the brothers “led a criminally homophobic, racist and violent attack against Mr. Smollett.” They continued making these claims despite condemnations against Smollett’s actions made by Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who are well-acquainted with the evidence and are planning on sending Smollett a bill for the investigation.

The damage to the Osundairo brothers’ reputations have been ruined, they claim to feel afraid in their own communities, and this has resulted in their inability to find work or pay their bills. All in exchange for a measly check for $3,500 from the should-be disgraced actor, while Smollett continues to make money. How is this fair when key Democrats are helping Smollett to continue getting away with crime while making his personal brand more valuable in the culture of Liberal victimhood? The simple answer is, it’s not.

Do the Osundario brothers deserve our sympathy? Probably not. Does Smollett deserve to face the music and pay up in court? Absolutely. He’s next in line, once federal prosecutors have their turn with him, but for now his attorneys will have to do. Lawyers are typically protected from lawsuits that are based upon what they say while they’re trying to win a case, but they may just pay the brothers off to shut them up. Just like their client did.

Chicago mayor and former Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel is considering suing Smollett to recoup the nearly $150K that was wasted on the case. Charges against Smollett were dropped in exchange for 16 hours of community service and an agreement to forfeit his $10K bond, which is a sorry bribe considering the $140K difference.

Smollett’s community service consisted of 18 hours of volunteer work with scandal-plagued Jesse Jackson Sr.’s nonprofit RAINBOW Push Coalition, a civil and human rights organization that has done more for Jackson personally than it has for the black community. The coalition paid the mother of the child Jackson fathered as the result of an extramarital affair $35K out of their own donations. The coalition reached out to Smollett and not the other way around.

During Smollett’s so-called community service he stuffed envelopes, sold merchandise in a bookstore, and helped the group with camera angles for their Saturday broadcast. Smollett also worked with the musical director, with whom he helped put together a plan to build a choir. In a statement the group issued yesterday, it was specified that Smollett’s involvement with the group was voluntary and was not court-ordered community service.

The statement went on to say, “At a time when our city is wrestling with excessive violence and unsolved homicides our resources and energies should be focused there.”

In other words, don’t focus on this one black man getting away with crime because he can pay people off; focus on the larger issue of excessive violence. Smollett’s self-directed violence, apparently, doesn’t fall under the umbrella of “excessive” by the group’s definition. For Smollett, it seems to be just the right amount of violence, because it worked.

Chicago PD Superintendent Eddie Johnson was also outraged at the dismissal of charges against Smollett, and rightly so. The department did great work, and they had a prosecutable case. There was no reason to drop the charges outside of corruption and Liberal privilege. That is hardly surprising though. How many decades have Democrats spent paying lip service to the black community while doing nothing for them? Chicago is run by the Dems, and Chicago has been ruined by the Dems.

In President Trump’s first two years black unemployment rates have dropped to a historic low, black Americans are experiencing unprecedented prosperity, and jobs and better education are being brought to struggling communities. Think of all the good could have been done for Chicago’s black community with $150K.  Smollett’s $10K payoff is the dollar amount you can place upon how little Smollett cares about anyone except him.

Black America deserves better, and hopefully the FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service make sure justice is done. While they’re at it, they need to make sure Smollett does some real community service that will benefit the communities of Chicago and not just Jesse Jackson.

And while you’re at it, Jussie, give Rahm his money back. We the People don’t make $200K per episode, and we need it.
